Dermal filler injections are non-invasive procedures that can be a good alternative to an invasive procedure like surgery. Most side effects that come from injections are usually temporary. The recovery time is relatively short and side effects are fairly rare. Some of the side effects can include a headache or flu-like cold symptoms. Respiratory infections are another type of side effect, and can happen due to a specific allergy or reaction to the chemicals injected. Whenever these side effects occur, even if it is only a headache, make sure to consult your doctor. Analgesics cannot manage these symptoms on their own, so when having these symptoms, find out what you should do next.

Immediately following these treatments, you may notice the surface of your skin change. There is a bit of temporary redness that will easily recover, but bruising can also occur. Bruising will occur in more extreme situations, as well as an overall weakness in your facial muscles.

These results are great, for they are almost instant and can last up to 9 months before requiring a top-up. As quick and almost painless as these procedures are, your doctor will need to make an assessment beforehand. Before getting any invasive treatment, a physician has to make sure that any potential allergies to these fillers and anaesthetics are noted.

Another more invasive lip plumping solution is a lip implant. Transferring fat from one part of a person’s body to their lips achieves this. Although these implants are long lasting, there are risks. Lip implants are more prone to create scarring or uneven lumps in the lips. This procedure will also require a general anaesthetic, instead of a topical

anaesthetic for injections.  Both invasive and non-invasive lip-filling treatments are usually done by appointment in a doctor’s office or hospital. Fat implants and implants will both tend to require an operating room and anaesthesia (which will also add to the final cost). Explore your options with your doctor because they will vary from person to person.

These days, there are walk-in clinics or high-end salons and spas that offer some of these injection treatments; some of which include wrinkle injections and dermal fillers. But ultimately the quality of each outcome to these treatments has, and will always depend on the skills of the physician or administering person. Make sure that your physician is a reputable one and can help you decide which solution is right for you.

Good thing people are living in a world of technology and constant improvement. In the past two decades, hundreds of topical creams, temporary and permanent solutions and even surgical solutions have been used and have been successful. Anti-wrinkle injection methods have become popular in this day and age because they can be found almost anywhere and are somewhat inexpensive (in relation to surgical procedures which can cost thousands). In particular, the past three years have introduces a large number of dermal and anti-wrinkle fillers that have been tried and trusted by users and physicians everywhere.

These Wrinkle injections require less attention and maintenance that other types of anti-wrinkle options. Botox and collagen injections are usually administered to different wrinkled parts of the face, neck and possibly body. These injections can help smooth the skin and minimize the appearance of wrinkles. The procedures are typically painless, aside from a needle prick. Restylane is another type of injection and a fairly new product on the market in comparison to Botox. Both are administered in the same fashion and can have the same side effects. Other types of injections can include Perlane (similar to Restylane, but has a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid), CosmoPlast (made with natural collagen), Radience/Radiesse (made from natural material found in bones and teeth), Sculptura (made with polylactic acid and is a hydrogel filler) and Juvederm (hyaluronic filler, known to be long-lasting.

People who use these options should not always expect overnight results. An injection may start showing signs of improvement when the injection is given and may not start until after a few days. Given that one of these injections was administered properly, a peak look will be given between two and three weeks. Also, if the proper dosages are given to a patient, the treatment should last for up to at least four months. Each person has a different skin structure and will react differently to the different types of injections. It is important to consult with a physician to go over all of the risks, side effects and other types of treatments to try first. Once an injection is administered to a person, they are susceptible to infection (rare, but can happen with any sort of injection), and intense redness. A bad headache can also be one of the side effects. If the procedures are done correctly, a person will be left with smoother skin and will look younger and better for months.

They all look radiant. Flawless skin. Perfect toned bodies. Immaculate complexions and effortless smiles as they glide down the red carpet on precipitous heels.

Just how do they do that? A lot of these celebrities are hitting their 40’s, 50’s or older but they still would not look out of place in a high school prom.

Are they from a different planet than the rest of us mortals? Age and time just does not seem to have the same hold on them.

The reality is of course that all of us become older. We all develop signs of aging. Some later than others, but it is inescapable. Many actors and models are often blessed genetically. That’s why they are paid to be eye candy in the first place.
But there are a few ‘tweaks’ that can be done to make sure that strut down the red carpet is perfect. This article is to go through some of these cosmetic enhancements.

Most people know about botulinum medicine and wrinkle injections. These are essentially muscle relaxants. In the right dose and in the right sites when performed by a doctor, these can almost magically reduce frown lines and crows feet.

Less well known is that in very careful use it can be used to treat ‘gummy smile’. By relaxing the correct muscle groups, it can stop the upper lip from elevating too much and showing too much gumline. It can also help elevate the corners of the mouth when through the aging process, our lips corners tend to sag. This is by relaxing a muscle known as the depressors anguli oris. The scientific name is not as important as what it does- which is to make the lips fresher and more youthful.

Wrinkle injections can be used in the chewing muscles- also known as the masseter muscles. This will over a few weeks reduce the fullness in the lower face and create  the more ‘heart shaped’ face that is usually more esthetically appealing.

Wrinkle injections can also be used in the chin muscle- the mentalis to reduce the dimpling of the skin there.

Another little known use of wrinkle injections is to stop sweating. The same medicine that relaxes muscles also stops sweat glands from well- sweating. When done a week before the event, the judicious use of botulinum medicine will ensure that even on the most humid day, that Gucci dress will suffer no embarrassing wet marks.

Dermal Fillers also have a role. These are medicines that when injected into the skin or tissue plane, can put volume and shape to that area.

So your favorite celeb may chose to have his or her lips plumed or defined. Cheek bones enhanced or even brows lifted.

Less well known treatments include the use of specialized dermal fillers for breast enhancement. Essentially using an injection to make breasts larger or more pert. Before you rush to a Cosmetic Physician however keep in mind that whilst thais treatment is available in most of Europe and Asia, it is not yet approved by the TGA in Australia.

An even more esoteric use of dermal fillers is to inject it into the ‘balls’ of the feet to act like extra ’shock absorbers’. Suitable if you have to walk in high heels all day. People who have had this done describe it like ‘walking on cushions’.

And this in just the minimally invasive cosmetic procedures. We have not even touched on thread lifts, lipo or surgery. But that is an article for another time..

So next Academy Awards night enjoy the fashion, celebs and gossip. And keep in mind that even celluloid kings and queens sometimes need a helping hand.

Wrinkle Injections or Dermal Fillers – these types of injection treatments involve injecting a person with cosmetic medicine into the wrinkled area or muscles. At first, the muscles contract to crease the skin. Within a few days, the muscles will relax, causing the surface wrinkles to smooth and frown lines to lessen. Because these injections are so powerful and effective, many of the once noticeable wrinkle lines will soften significantly. The finer lines may disappear altogether.

Dermal Filler Injections- are  a newer filling agent made with hyaluronic acid (a naturally occurring substance found in skin). This method is made to soften frown lines around the mouth, to add volume in parts of the chin, jaw line and lips, and to smooth out other lines and wrinkles. Dermal Fillers are similar to Wrinkle Injections in the way of receiving the injections, however, it’s become popular because it does not relax muscles but it restores the natural contours of the face. The hylauronic acid starts to absorb and retain water making that immediate area hydrated and keeps skin looking fresh.

Chemical Peels- chemical peels are achieved by applying a chemical solution to the wrinkled skin. A chemical peel isn’t made to treat severe wrinkles or sagging skin, but it can reduce fine lines around the mouth and under the eyes. Peels allow the skin to resurface its older dead layer of skin. It can also treat wrinkles and age spots caused by sun damage. These treatments can be used in several different mediums, The more deep chemical peels usually require more recovery time for a patient.

Collagen Injections- collagen is used in some injections as filler for soft tissue. This treatment is synthetic and starts its work at the edge of a wrinkle or small line and then filling out the wrinkled part of the skin. These are replaced by some of the more modern hyaluronic based dermal fillers and are rarely used in Australia any more.

Laser Peels- laser peels use short, concentrated light pulses that remove skin layer by layer. Laser peels can achieve more precise and accurate results that are similar to treatments like those of dermabrasion. These peels can be used to treat any part on the face: crow’s feet, around the mouth, and forehead. Carbon dioxide and erbium (a silvery white metal) are two types of lasers that are in modern day use. The erbium causes minimal burning of tissue surrounding the area affected by the laser, and will result in a quicker recovery time.

Microdermabrasion- this type of treatment is used to spray very fine crystals onto areas in which dead skin cells will be removed. Essentially it ’sandblasts’ the top dead layer of your skin. This type of treatment is meant for fine lines across different areas of the face, and for upper layers of the skin. Dermabrasion is a more extensive procedure than this, and is made to remove and get to deeper layers of skin. For those who have deep wrinkle lines and sagging skin, dermabrasion or microdermabrasion isn’t recommended because it will not create noticeable differences.

Each measure to help prevent crows feet from happening will not always prevent it. Some people may still see little wrinkles and lines, but the lines may be smaller than they would be if they didn’t try to protect them. The aging process isn’t something that can be put off forever, but there are surgical techniques that can smoothen out the skin. There are temporary solutions such as wrinkle injections, to treat these wrinkles for months at a time.

There are also creams that can be used, that aren’t always proven to work, but they can help increase the moisture in a person’s skin. Increasing the moisture can help reduce wrinkles and increase the elasticity in skin.

With anything, there will be a good chance of risk and complications. There are many tests that someone would have to go through to detect any allergies or health concerns with invasive surgery. Most times, because an injection will last a few months, a person can tell how well or poor their body reacts to it after the first time. There isn’t however, as much maintenance to be concerned with since you do not have to reapply something as often as a topical cream.

To get started with finding wrinkle filler that will work for you, find a skilled and experienced cosmetic surgeon or dermatologist. Finding a good cosmetic surgeon is a key point in recovery and results – most of the bad side effects come from those who aren’t quite skilled. Your doctor should be able to tell you which injection substance will work for you, depending on the severity of the wrinkles lines, and where they lie. The collagen that they will inject into you will fill out wrinkle lines from underneath your crows feet (or other wrinkled areas on the face) and will relax your facial muscles. This will keep your wrinkles from contracting and, if using fat or collagen from other areas of your own body, can last longer.

Before even starting any procedure, whether it is a cream or an injection, evaluate the cost. The creams that have been proven to work will require that it be applied daily, and up to twice daily. The cost of injections, even though they are needed only every few months, can cost $300 up to $1,000.

Expect redness and some irritation around the area injected up to a day or two after the injection. Make-up can cover some of the redness, but the benefits of the injections will show immediately. The needles used are pretty fine in size, which will help with the discomfort, but weigh your options with a cosmetic surgeon to figure out where to start getting rid of those little lines.

People want to know if it is possible to have the smile of Tom Cruise. Or the nose of Salma Hayek. Or the cheek-bones of Brad Pitt.

We are framed within the constraints of our genetics. Angelina Jolie lips on a small framed face is not always possible but more importantly may not be appropriate.

But we all can have our features enhanced. Crow’s feet can be softened. Cheek bones can be made more glamorous and lips more defined.

Angelina Jolie’s Pout: At risk of understatement, Angelina has striking lips.

A lady who would like to have lips like hers would first need to have reasonably full lips and a lower face to ‘carry’ the lips.

The dimples beneath the nose are known as the philtral columns. They can be created or enhanced with a dermal filler. When they are well defined they add glamour to the lip area.

Megan Fox’s Eyebrows: Megan has full luscious eyebrows. A mistake that many women make is that they wax and tweeze their eyebrows to an inch of their lives.

One of the things that happen to eyebrows as we get older is that they become a lot more sparse. Thin eyebrows usually age a face. Conversely, full but well defined eyebrows are more youthful.

Her eyebrows are ‘flared’. That is, they rise up in a high arch on the side of her brow.

A common concern that people have is of a ‘gummy-smile’. This is where too much gum-line shows when smiling.

This is despite claiming never to have had treatment. Some people would claim that her forehead that as one celebrity described it ‘looks like a flat panel TV’, certainly looks very, very relaxed and I also suspect that she may have had ‘Vitamin B injections’ occasionally.

For a lady Nicole has a very prominent forehead, so any relaxation or over-relaxation is exaggerated. As a professional I would suggest only minimal Sydney Wrinkle Injection so as to have a more ‘natural’ movement to her face and not give her such a dead pan look at all times. Demi Moore: At age 47. Demi Moore claims to have spent a small fortune on a nutitionist, a kick-boxing coach, a personal trainer and a yoga teacher, she has definitely also spent an even larger fortune with cosmetic surgery.

Although she denies any surgery! If this is so, we need to bottle Demi’s genetic make up as she must be extremely genetically blessed.

Demi has almost certainly had some Sydney Wrinkle Injection help which is evident by the lack of movement around the forehead area and by the fine lines around the eyes.

Rob Lowe: At age 45 and by comparing his more recent photos to his early career pictures his jawline is far more prominent, raising the possibility of a chin implant.
