Anti Wrinkle Injections · May 1, 2009
Wrinkle Injections medicine is essentially a muscle relaxant. But given that we have over 600 muscles in the body and over 60 in the face alone- its uses can be manifold.
Forehead: We have a large muscle on the forehead known as the frontalis. When this contracts thousands of times a day- hundreds of thousands times a year this will start to form horizontal lines across our foreheads. Added to this is years of sun exposure and environmental damage. Wrinkle Injections is an excellent treatment for this area and many patients find improvements of 70-90% in this area alone.
At Star Cosmetic Medicine we believe in restoring appearance without taking away expression and nowhere is it more important than in this area. When preformed by an experienced doctor- the forehead should still be able to have expression, but just a few less wrinkles!
Frown area: Also known as the glabellar area. This is primarily caused by two strong muscles above the eyebrows. These lead to one or more vertical lines between the eyebrows plus/minus a horizontal line over the bridge of the nose. When treated appropriately this area can be dramatically improved.
‘Crow’s Feet’: Caused by the round muscles around our eyes every time we smile or squint.
When treated with Wrinkle Injections- keep smiling with confidence!
Eye ‘Lift’:Â One of the more advanced things that can be done with wrinkle injections is what is known as a ‘B Lift’. By relaxing just the right muscles around the eyes- it is possible to flair the eyebrows and/or increase the arch of the eyebrows. This is particularly beneficial in older patients who tend to have heavy top eyelids.
‘Gummy Smile’:Â By using the wrinkle injections in very small doses in the right areas it is
possible to improve a ‘gummy smile’- where someone is showing too much gum line when
smiling.
‘Teeth grinding’: Medically this is known as bruxism. When the jaw muscles become too active
the excessive grinding can cause pain, headaches, chipped teeth and bothered sleeping
partners. Wrinkle Injections medicine is one of the most effective treatments for this condition.
Facial Contouring: For people with a very ’square’ facial outline the medicine can be used
to ’slim’ down the facial contours to create a more oval face. This is a very popular
treatment in many Asiatic patients who genetically tend to have a squarer facial outline.
Excessive sweating:Â Wrinkle Injections medicine is now a principal treatment for hyperhidrosis or
excessive sweating. A doctor carefully injects the medicine beneath the skin of either the
hands or armpit to treat this condition.
Neck lift: The Wrinkle Injections medicine can be used to relax the muscles of the neck that contribute to the aging of the neck area. This can tighten the jaw line and improve the texture of the skin.
